Whether Bayern deserve to win this, is an irrelevant point. Refereeing crew gifted them the second goal. To not even go to the monitor to determined whether Luis Suarez was fouled. Surprised Sporting didn’t have a complete breakdown after that.

Mature display from Sporting in what was a physically demanding first half. Mostly limited Bayern to shots from outside the box and made the Germans uncomfortable in transition, occasionally. Too many performers to highlight, but the back 3 of Quaresma, Reis & Diomande was solid.

It is utterly irrational and embarrassing. Nevertheless, my week’s been ruined by Portugal’s insipid and uninspiring World Cup jersey. How could Puma get it so wrong after releasing that gorgeous Eusebio tribute kit, only a few weeks ago?

Nice find themselves in the same situation Sporting did a few years ago, when players like Rafa Leão and Gelson Martins fled the club after ultras attacking them, and others, in their own training facility.
