My novel in-progress is centered around the events of upstate New York's Anti-Rent War and its aftermath in the 19th century. In brief, it was the largest tenant strike in American history, comprising 11 largely rural counties. But this description only scratches the surface.

We had hoped 1000 people would show up for the No ICE in NH demonstration.

I remember catching a local NPR affiliate interviewing a food bank director while I was on a road trip across New England. He pointed out that for every 1 person in the region their food bank supported, the federal government, thrpugh SNAP benefits, supported 9.
