“A Bridge to Nowhere”

Gleaming over the desert.
Built in 82,
abandoned in 23.
In both cases
for the same reason:

Gravity is wrong there.
Steel tried to tame it.
Tourists brave it now.
The lucky ones return,
carrying with them
a newfound
respect for the unknown.
