Why oh why is NPR still so tone deaf on the topic of the Trump/MAGA authoritarianism? No Kings isn't about policies! It's about the threat to democracy!

What if millions of Americans withheld their income tax returns out of concern that “DOGE” would mishandle their data and misappropriate their tax dollars?
I expect criminals to commit crimes. I expect good journalists to resist being accomplices. Why oh why does @npr.org talk about the illegitimate and so-called "DOGE" as if it is anything other than a con?!?
Simply put, Trump handed America's checkbook to Musk, who now gets to decide which bills (e.g., USAID, social security checks, cancer research grants, debt payments) he wants to pay.
MAGA uses our humanity & caring against us, to distract us from their goal of stealing power and wealth. The answer is to care MORE - to break open hardened hearts and transform society.
And so the con artist wielded fear to hoodwink the “basket of deplorables” into crowning him their cult leader, the Republican party achieved their endgame of killing democracy, and the Broligarchy pillaged America's riches and future, eventually making the planet uninhabitable for humanity.
When a friend dies, I often feel compelled to verbally acknowledge them when I am among mutual friends. I feel similarly compelled to acknowledge America's death, and look forward to encouraging each other to Resist.
