Wendington Jones and the Lost Tree by Daniel Dockery @foxandinkbooks.bsky.social Setting sail to finish her late mums last adventure to find the tree of life, Wendington soon finds her fellow passengers will do anything, even murder, to get there first! REVIEW ➡️ erinthecatprincess.blogspot.com
The book cover is generally in a mix of dark green with an art deco stylised patterned edge in gold. In the centre we see Wendington standing at the prow of the liner that features in the book. There is a pale red and orange sky behind the ship to highlight Wendington and a grey silhouetted figure in a hat of some description. A golden disc is to the left of Wendington as we see her. On it is the inscription "Who would risk death for the tree of life?" Four portholes are seen at the prow, two each side, and in each a silhouette, probably of a person in the book. At the top of the cover 'Wendington Jones' is in red period font, whilst the rest of the title is in gold capitals beneath. The authors name appears below the ship in green on a gold plaque underlined in red.

Had a small crowd of kids round me at break time going WHOAAAH at my silly cat houses
A weird Sandcastle drawn on isometric paper, with a cat doodles in front. Around it is written "splendid castle" and "incredible deed". Cat looks quite smug I guess

Just finished Small Bomb at Dimperley by @lissakevans.bsky.social Loved it. Felt that whilst I was being entertained I was being educated about the social history of the country at the end of WW2. Stand out for me was the subtle way a character's disability was handled, all too rare a thing IMHO.
Cover of the paperback edition of Small Bomb at Dimperley by Lissa Evans. Image is of a country house hallway and rooms from the early 20th century with the title and the author's name overlaid in large type.

Those claiming there’s no energy transition only an “energy addition,” are wrong. I told FT:

Yes, it’s correct that we are not on track globally to reduce emissions fast enough. But if you look at what’s happening across sectors, technologies, and geographies, you see real transitions underway.
