I'm back to the same argument I have had for years over Joe Manchin. We needed him and now we will NEVER have a single vote for anything from West Virginia and he helped us keep the majority. Few are practical in our Democratic party. And.... eventually we would have been blamed for continued chaos.

The worst Democrat is better than the best Republican.

I think Schumer is forcing the House back to work. This is where it all has to begin.

Maybe (just maybe) Senate Democrats voting to end the shutdown are playing chess, not checkers. Forcing the House to stay in session, keeping them working, and giving House Dems time to hold the line and get Adelita Grijalva sworn in…

A 50-year mortgage might sound good to Trump because lower payments, easier to qualify. But not so fast. You’ll pay far more in interest, build equity at a snail’s pace, and risk going underwater if prices drop just like 2008. Short-term relief, long-term regret.

When the Democrats lose an election, they debate endlessly how they can appeal to more voters. When Republicans lose an election, they think of ways to keep more people from voting.

Turns out America is better than gaudy excess or destruction.

There’s a big tent in the Democratic Party.
Embrace it.

Interesting analysis.
Winning candidates did not talk about Trump but issues!

The long voting lines in NYC are incredible. Young people! Voting & waiting.
Say what you will, gotta pay attention.

I meet the news that Nancy Pelosi is not seeking reelection with very mixed feelings. Yes, I am always pushing for younger candidates, but this giant simply cannot be replaced. Thank you Madam Speaker. I am sure you will continue to support and lead in new ways.

Trump’s disapproval: 63% Worst ever
Democrats’ favorability: 33% positive / 63% negative. Worst in decades

Unpopularity on both sides. Who will turn it into an opportunity? The one who connects, not just complains.

Caution to @democrats.org Our diverse opinions are a strength not a flaw.

Yes, I defended Joe Manchin (& argued about it!) because in W VIRGINIA he was an anomaly who kept the majority & helped pass key legislation. W/out voices like his, we get MAGA.

We win by growing the tent, not purifying it.

Trump’s “plan” for healthcare is the same as his “plan” for the East Wing which is all smoke and mirrors, zero details, and no real work behind it. He promises everything, delivers nothing, and hopes we don’t notice.

About 35% of America still falling for it.

Trump had a Great Gatsby party at Mar a Lago last night. While people went off SNAP. Oh the irony. So Trumpian. Like Tom and Daisy, these people seem selfish and emotionally empty. Money protects them but does not give them moral depth. Their privilege destroys others and they walk away untouched.

The party that says people on public assistance “don’t work” has kept the U.S. House out of session for 32+ days and they’ve only been in session about 120 days all year. Do your jobs!!!

SUCH BS FROM GOP!!!!!!!!!! FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IF THEY WANT THEM TO BE. DON'T BLAME DEMOCRATS. JUDGES HAVE TO STEP IN BECAUSE YOU WON'T DO YOUR JOB! BREAKING NEWS: Judges order the Trump administration to use contingency funds for SNAP payments during the shutdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firefighter arsonist. Trump is and always has been. Trade war with China ended with less than we had before but more than we had pre-tariffs.

Waiting for GOP healthcare plan?
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) says we should bring back high-risk pools. We've tried that.
• Higher costs for people w/ cancer, diabetes, etc.
• Wait lists & coverage caps
• People going broke while “insured”
Need real solutions not punishment for preexisting conditions.

41.7 million Americans rely on SNAP. How much fraud is there?
Starving people to stop a small percent of fraud? That’s worse.
