Watching the Sky F1 grid walk and I see a dude taking a photo in front of a McLaren. “That looks like Jack Bates” I think to myself (of Smashing Pumpkins and Peter Hook and the Light). Sure enough, he’s later lined up in the VIP start line pen with the Pumpkins.
