If Astara were to not join any, Emya would take them both away from the conflict to a place where they cannot be found. Possibly to Emya's homeland. The last place people would think he would take them. Everyone on the Source knows Emya hates the place due to his past so they wouldn't check there.

None. Emya would not ally with any of the nations.

He knows if he joins one, it will be a guaranteed victory for the chosen nation and the fall of the others.

He will only interfere if Astara/WoL was in mortal danger. Only to keep Astara/WoL alive enough to recover before returning to the shadows.
