Yes, and I've been insanely banging on about this malaise for the last couple of years because it's cropping up all the time in school. Trump and Farage would be regarded as parriahs in any decently minded society, but they're obviously now seen as voices of the people. Thoroughly depressing timed.

European governments had ample opportunities to sanction Russia since 2016 but chose not to due to energy dependence. If we had done so and taken a financial hit while building a sustainsble energy supply we'd be in a much stronger position. Trump and Putin have been given an Ace card with this.
