I am sort of back podcasting. But I am going to stick to history for a while. Still should be fun. This first book I reviewed is on the history of artificial light in early America. And yes, as the title suggests, it is dark.

My first episode was on the first hundred pages of “Typee” by Herman Melville. hundredpages.podbean.com/e/episode-on...

I podcast on American Writers using the Library of America as a source of the canon. I read and review around 100 pages at a time. I also do systematic read through of American writers (Philip K dick and Lovrcraft are done, currently Heinlein). Approach broadly leftist.

The 1000th episode of my podcast is a look at “The Door Into Summer” by Heinlein. I think I may also have around 1000 downloads overall. hundredpages.podbean.com/e/robert-a-h...

But I must have missed the bad takes on LLM. I’m afraid to inquire.

I’ve been only rarely myself. One-on-one talks seem better. We had a discussion on “Starman Jones” that stayed on the themes of the book. The last time I was on a larger panel it got a bit weird and I was reminded to avoid it. It is the shoehorning in of the bad ideas into everything that gets dull.
