🤷‍♂️ stuck in the most useless place, the waiting place.
Many Scout troops are collecting non-perishable items for food banks this week. Please consider donating, if not coming holiday season, definitely for those who have run out of food during this government shutdown.

met up with scouts’ dads over the weekend. more than half of them have been furloughed with the government shutdown and have not been paid. two had to start work today without pay. 🙁

This is a fascinating rundown of the numbers Tesla has to hit for Elon M to get his trillion dollars. It does not seem likely?

Tesla says shareholders approve Musk's $1 trillion pay plan with over 75% voting in favor
Tesla shareholders approved CEO Elon Musk's historic pay package at the company's annual shareholders meeting in Austin, Texas.

I was so against the 1T pay package for Musk because he’s been a terrible human and I hoped he would leave Tesla. A lot of people are talking about it like as if he’s going to get $1T immediately, or that there isn’t a mountain of work to be done to get the money, which is in stocks not cash. 😕

Wanna fight climate change?

don’t just protest. don’t just rely on the government. don’t just think someone else will do what you need to do.

Stop driving a Gas car. Buy an EV, install a charger st home, put up solar panels.

in our society we need to adjust our consumption to make change.

Don’t want Musk to get his trillion?

Don’t just protest or rant
Don’t just boycott his products

Actually buy competing EVs, robots, energy products, social media, AI etc.

Encourage and support competing companies to innovate more quickly.

otherwise you’re just allowing more of the same.

just gonna put this out there: even if Tesla somehow got rid of its stigma by 2027, and successfully bring down the price of its humanoid bot to $20k USD, and made it able to fold laundry and make dinner — my wife would still not let me buy it.

I have 3 service appointments coming up for 3 vehicles. 2 for maintenance and have recalls. 1 is to fix a screwup from earlier service. How do I convey to them that it is important for them all to get it right this one time and order all the parts now? — without sounding like a nagging parent?

is there a market for a 2 seater, non-roadster, in America? — given that 2 door hatchbacks have never sold well here.

for the European market, is this thing as small as a Fiat Topolino? It’s also not very “cute”.

great, an AI powered back seat driver. 😂

and maybe it’s just me but these are not the kind of conversations I have when I’m driving.

sigh. thankfully all the doggy twitter accounts I use to follow over there have come here to BlueSky. Alas the supposed “Tesla friends” have not. whatever that means about them… i miss the camaraderie of the original climate change mission.

We're always down a nurse for my daughter, now we're down 2. This article points to a top indicator the system is broken.

Q: I understand the pivot to AI and Robotics, but what is Tesla’s strategy to pay for continued R&D for products that are years out if there’s no clear strategy for revenue from its automotive and energy business?

Kids or anyone getting hurt or killed by a car is a tragedy. However, there seems to be a belief that heavier vehicles are more deadly when anyone can get hurt or killed by vehicles of any weight… 2800 Lbs Toyota Corolla or 14,500 lbs School Bus.

I wish the article and study went into what kind of friendly interactions… because of course friends = less loneliness, it’s are certain types of interactions that really make a difference.

Study finds friendship is a powerful antidote to caregiver isolation
Even brief, friendly interactions can lift the emotional weight of dementia caregiving, with new research showing that connections, especially casual ones, offer powerful protection against loneliness...

oh joy. 🤨 3 out of 4 Windows computers in the house started having issues. 1 of which took down its Linux partition. All the Macs work fine. Time to think about getting rid of Windows again. 😞

Gasoline cars are basically 50-liter rolling bombs we’ve all agreed to sit on. 🔥 Meanwhile, EVs are out here catching fewer fires than politicians telling the truth. 1,530 fires per 100k gas cars vs just 25 for EVs, almost zero for #LFP. The only thing burning are the myths. ⚡🚗 #EV #Safety #Firesafe
