It was a pleasure to discuss Isaac Rose's book last night as part of @sheffieldurbanism.bsky.social Jan program. In my brief visits to Manchester the city center has felt so alienating to me. It turns out there are of course many historic and political reasons for this, which this book unpacks.
Tonight. I’m at the @sheffieldurbanism.bsky.social launch of Isaac Rose’s “The Rentier City - Manchester and the making of the Neoliberal Metropolis”. @repeaterbooks.bsky.social @urbaninstitute.bsky.social @invisiblemapper.bsky.social
