Do you like poetry? Me neither. Buy my poetry book. 🥰

I’ve been a little facetious about this book since it came out, but it’s two older OOP chapbooks that are some of my favorite poems I’ve written.

Finally had a chance to crack open my copy of the @southwestreview.bsky.social horror issue and found my story illustrated by @lumierebelge.bsky.social whose work I've followed for a few years. I'm not sure if the editors knew this; if so, thanks! If not, amazing confluence of energies, thanks!
Sometimes a review for one of my books pops up, and I go, “Oh yeah, I write.” 🪦

I might have to take my publisher hat off for a few days and finish the story I started last month.
I'm a little safe from Adam. I've finally finished up my Abyss collection. Haha. I'm sure I'll find some records to give him some of my money. I'll have to check out those other places.
16.5 going through Indianapolis, Dayton, Columbus, Zanesville, Cambridge, Wheeling, Washington, New Stanton, Breezewood, Carlisle, Gettysburg.

Still want to go to Xenia, like we talked about last time. But I think it said that’d be an extra 30 minutes not even getting out of the car. Haha.
Weird question: I’m driving to PA this week (for VoidCon—be there) and never know if I should just drive until I can’t feel my legs, then find a museum or bookstore to recover… or actually plan the stops. Do people plan their cities ahead of time?
A surreal coming together of worlds, my music has been played on L'étranger, and now, a piece of a story. 🫶

Nice to be there alongside other people like @jackskelley.bsky.social @houseofvladpress.bsky.social Scab Magazine and Blake Butler!

Seriously one of the best horror lit events I've ever been to! Iowans love weird horror!
Thanks again to everyone who came out to One of Us last weekend!

If you didn't come, you're just not getting a thank you. Are you? If you're thanks-incentivized, you'll have to remember that for next time.

Just got interviewed about ONE OF US. When asked why I'm doing it, I compared myself to George Mallory, who said he climbed Everest "because it was there!" I jokingly said this was "because it wasn't."

This... is a lie. I responded by making a "uhhhhhhh" sound like Tina Belcher for 20 minutes.
A quick reminder Bryon Dudley and I recorded an EP called City Dead, full of lo-fi 70s Italian horror movie-inspired music. It's coming out on cassette soon, and you can order it now from my Bandcamp.

Release the Horse, by @matthewmitchell.bsky.social

Been waiting for this one.
Only the good ones...
Reason #382 Why I Hate Digital Media: I decided to start linking the previous interviews, etc. on irarat.com I would say for every six that I've done, one still exists... 🤷

TFW, you realize that your zine wasn't on your webpage for god-knows-how-long.

If you liked "I Preferred His Underground Stuff," you might enjoy this one... Or not, thems the breaks, it's a poetry chapbook. I'm not going to provide a money-back warranty. 🚬

Seriously though, I read the first two stories ("The Bone Mother" by Jon Steffens and "How to Fillet Angels" by @horrorsong.blog) this morning and they are excellent. Between it and Fleischerei by @miseryvulture.bsky.social, it's clear I'm going to need to dig into more of Filthy Loot's catalogue.
How the timeline has me feeling today

MIDWEST Horror writers who want to drive to Iowa City to table at a horror event. The entry for the lottery is now open! Even if you have just one book, you're welcome! Look for the previous post, as putting the URL in it might have limited its reach.
Sorry that it's a lottery, we have more interest than space. ❤️
