Huge thanks to the legislators, DOE/DOT Joint Office staff, state of NY, town of Hancock, EV charging companies, Hyundai, and the early EV pioneers and advocates for the hard work of a decade+ to build the reality where our charging stop was one of the easiest parts of our trip! #alwaysbecharging

I've only had an EV for one year, but still I've seen big improvement in fast charging, especially the fully functioning chargers, high power/short time, new stations right off the highway, ease of using the app, and the ability to pay with a credit card, no app, if that worked best!

Replacing our ICE with an EV has meant much less time and $ fueling our vehicle (no gas station visits, just a regular old 120V plug at home every week or so). However, for road trips, we did need new infrastructure to make EVs useable.

There were about 8 non-Tesla chargers, and about the same number of Tesla chargers. At the times we visited, the chargers were busy with #Tesla, #GM, #Ford, #Nissan, #Kia, #Polestar, and #Hyundai vehicles, but there was never a wait. Nice to see so many EVs out on the road!

We would have had just enough time for a stretch, bathroom, and diaper change, but of course with the kids, our 15 minute stop turned into 30+ minutes while we ate lunch, kicked a ball around, etc. It was a warm and clear summer day, but if it had been cold or wet, there was a McDonalds Playspace!

Guys, the rumors were true...charging our #EV on a 300 mi, 5 hr road trip with my toddlers was super easy. Thanks to #NYPA #NEVI & #electrifyamerica which fund, build & operate nice fast chargers right off the highway! Our #hyundai #ioniq6 gets 80% in 15-20 min! S/O to Hancock NY for hospitality!

You have most of the advice you wanted, but piping in to say we've leased a 2024 Ioniq 6 for ~1yr and love it. My advice is to start looking for the trim you want now. Might have been late in the MY, but we couldn't get the color/motor option we wanted in our timeframe. Hope you love it like we do!

Amidst the chaos and the law-breaking the most important thing to remember/focus on is that they are doing these things illegally because they know they don't have the votes to do it by passing laws, even in a GOP controlled Congress.

Trans people out there living their lives have never been a threat to me. In contrast, like most women, I’ve been harassed or assaulted by plenty of β€œregular” men. I don’t need protection from trans people, and quit invoking my and my daughter’s β€œdefense” to persecute people for who they are.

BREAKING β€” I'm told OPM just sent out this memo with guidance for implementing Trump's "Defending Women" anti-trans executive order.

"Take down all outward facing media that inculcate or promote gender ideology. Review email systems and turn off features that prompt users for their pronouns."
Pursuant to its authority under 5 U.S.C. Β§ 1103(a)(1) and (a)(5), the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is providing the following initial guidance to agencies regarding the President’s Executive Order entitled Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government (Defending Women). Steps to End Federal Funding of Gender Ideology: In light of Defending Women, each agency should take prompt actions to end all agency programs that use taxpayer money to promote or reflect gender ideology as defined in Section 2(f) of Defending Women. Specifically, agency heads should take the following steps: 1. No later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, January 31, 2025 a. Send an email to all agency employees announcing that the agency will be complying with Defending Women and this guidance. b. Review all agency programs, contracts, and grants, and terminate any that promote or inculcate gender ideology. c. Review all agency position descriptions and send a notification to all employees whose position description involves inculcating or promoting gender ideology that they are being placed on paid administrative leave effective immediately as the agency takes steps to close/end all initiatives, offices, and programs that inculcate or promote gender ideology. d. Take down all outward facing media (websites, social media accounts, etc.) that inculcate or promote gender ideology. e. Review agency email systems such as Outlook and turn off features that prompt users for their pronouns. f. Withdraw any final or pending documents, directives, orders, regulations, materials, forms, communications, statements, and plans that inculcate or promote gender ideology. g. Cancel any trainings that inculcate or promote gender ideology or have done so in the past. h. Disband or cancel any employee resource groups or special emphasis programs that inculcate or promote gender ideology or have done so in the past. i. Review all agency forms that require entry of an individual’s sex and ensure that all list male or female only, and not gender identity. Remove requests for β€œgender” and substitute requests for β€œsex.” j. Ensure that all applicable agency policies and documents, including forms, use the term β€œsex” and not β€œgender.” k. Ensure that intimate spaces designated for women, girls, or females (or for men, boys, or males) are designated by biological sex and not gender identity. 2. No later than 12:00 p.m. EST on Friday, February 7, 2025, report to OPM on all steps taken to implement this guidance, including: a. a complete list of actions taken in response to this guidance and Defending Women; and b. any agency plans to fully comply with this guidance and Defending Women. SUBJECT: Temporary Pause of Agency Grant, Loan, and Other Financial Assistance Programs 'The American people elected Donald J. Trump to be President of the United States and gave him a mandate to increase the impact of every federal taxpayer dollar. In Fiscal Year 2024. of the nearly $10 trillion that the Federal Government spent, more than $3 trillion was Federal financial assistance, such as grants and loans. Career and political appointees in the Executive Branch have a duty to align Federal spending and action with the will of the American people as expressed through Presidential priorities. Financial assistance should be dedicated to advancing Administration priorities, focusing taxpayer dollars to advance a stronger and safer America, eliminating the financial burden of inflation for citizens, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, ending wokeness" and the weaponization of government, promoting efficiency in government, and Making America Healthy Again. The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve. This memorandum requires Federal agencies to identify and review all Federal financial assistance programs and supporting activities consistent with the President's policies and requirements. For example, during the initial days of his Administration, President Donald J Trump issued a series of executive orders to protect the American people and safeguard valuable taxpayer resources, including Protecting the American People Against Invasion (Jan. 20, 2025). Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid (Jan 20, 2025), Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements (Jan. 20, 2025). Unleashing American Energy (Jan. 20. 2025). Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing (Jan. 20. ent these orders, each agency must complete a comprehensive analysis of all jal assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities that any of the President's executive orders. In the interian, to the extent applicable law, Federal agencies must temporarily pause all activities related disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency nay be implicated by the executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial surice tot foreign nongovernmental organizations, DEL woke gender ideology, and the pause will provide the Administration time to review agency programs of the funding for those programs consistent with the law and the he temporary pause will become effective on January 28, 2025, at 5:00 rehensive analysis. Federal agencies must immediately deadlines for assistance programs arising while the les must report this information to OMB along with an directs Federal agencies to pause all activities associated conducting merit review panels No later than Febrar - 10. 2025, agencies shail submit to OMB detailed information on any programs projects or activities subject to this pause.
