The new ordinance requires all streets to be cleared once 4 inches of snow accumulate and creates a three-tiered system that prioritizes busier streets during lesser snowfalls. The city also plans to plow certain bike paths after more than 2 inches of snowfall.

The study indicated half of renters in Marion County are cost-burdened, meaning they spend nearly a third of their monthly income on rent and utilities, & 25% of renters are severely cost-burdened because they spend half of their income on housing.

In the third quarter of 2025, 30% of single-family homes were bought by investors, according to data from Cotality, a real-estate data company. The company defines an investor as a buyer owning three or more properties.

The report details a 15-year low rental vacancy rate of 3.9% across Marion County. Low rates mean renters seeking housing may be unable to find it, especially very low income residents, forcing them to stay unhoused or live in unsafe, units.
