Over a year ago I asked @serenaverdeart.bsky.social to put together a book design for when I was reading for story time. I then tried to combine it with the portraits she had done of my RP characters over the years as some extra expression of thanks.

Tyvon is closest to me, ever present decades on.

The left page a portrait of Tyvon, looking away, hand resting on the pommel of the sword on his hip. White haired, solemn, with a hint of Elvish pointed-ness to his ears. Leather armour protects the bulk of his torso, and there are several pouches around his waist.

The right page, an excerpt of Tyvon's thoughts:

"At some point I must wonder whether my nature to keep my distance is akin to insanity, or an irrational fear.

Over the years I have denied myself friends, family; allies, companions. Chances at peace or to make life easier on myself.
There was however always solace to be found in the woods, in Faizel forever by my side, and the moons in the night sky.

I should wonder whether the shadows I chase are also a form of self.. sabotage. The connection I feel just a different madness.
There are few more in tune with the land than a dryad, is it my place to be among even the trees when shunned by one so entwined?

Had I tried for a different life I would have always felt I do not belong; as the trappings of obligations begin to appear, the discomfort sets in. The scars that forest holds are deep and well justified. With more answers the truth of the shadows will become clearer. I can only hope what I see to be the better path is not false.

For now if I can stay, even for a little while, even at a distance, I cannot deny the comfort of home."

This one is a little more.. structured than my normal scribbles. Whenever I think of friends and connections this comes to mind as well. It is natural for connections to wander or fray, but it can be sad too. Regardless, I will remember as long as I can.

A series of large standing mirrors in the dark, arrayed akin to a graveyard.

The frames of the mirrors are styled and decorated differently for each person they represent a connection to. Some of the mirrors are in different states of repair; glass frosting, silver flaking, some cracked.

How it builds up and displays different aspects rather than just rehashing the same thing too for a topic where that could easily happen by accident. He and Kat do good work. The one about Director's Cuts also feels important.

So, a while ago, one Mr. Bomberguy released a video about plagiarism. I feel a lot of the points made relate similarly to automated writing and summaries even sans the human theft; including advertising as being authorities on the subj- Oh. He does bring it up a bit at the end. Well. Carry on then.

Came to a decision on a suitable piece to go with Tarrant's Realm. Kintsukuroi by Serena Verde. Have always enjoyed seeing Serena's work over the years. Part of it may be sentimentality of first person I approached to draw my characters, but generally appreciate the emotion and art direction too~

'Kintsukuroi' by Serena Verde and 'Tarrant's Realm' by Michael Whelan, framed and on the wall.

Kintsukuroi features a woman seemingly made of cracked porcelain, put back together with gold to fill in the seams.

Weh. A few recent .. scribbles. Things.

Seto Kaiba and his Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, all with blep tongues, behind him. Very simplified style, the dragons are little more than blobs on thick sticks with ears, eyes and tongue.

A colourful little t-rex (NavyBoop) and a crow sitting/loafing next to each other, casually observing.

Was originally a screenshot taken from an event in VRC, watching friends karaoke.

A bee that is also a grocer. A grocer-bee with groceries. They are carrying a paper bag of vegetables. They are quite happy~

Magical item idea: The Fabulous

A garishly colourful and nonsensical assortment of fabrics and threads,
Folding in upon itself to form different clothing.
Regardless of appearance the word 'fabulous' comes to mind when trying to form an opinion.

-transforms into a random article of clothing When picked up.
-With Focus the wearer might be able to narrow down styles, materials,
aspects, or particular garments; but it will never be perfect.

The main drawing is of a hat, made of several different colourful fabrics, what looks like part of a scarf, and part of a collared shirt.

Not sure what that would look like, but it's certainly a different take on the unreliable narrator.
