I agree. They try to make space for everyone. You'd find a kids playground in Dundas Square if it were in Montreal. The recent pedestrianization areas are a delight.

There is a heat exchanger at the intake. The system water is a closed loop. Not sure what that refresh rate is.

Build a vertical farm next door and use the waste water to heat the building. We've got the land. It's the best use of an energy hog like a data centre. Dual-purpose footprint.

True. The Hearn generating station is an ideal location to do both -- large industrial building, access to cold lake water from the boiler intake that already exists, and well connected to the grid.

You could, in theory, have a heat exchanger to recover some of the heat to pre-heat OTHER water. How to get this warmer water to someone who could use it is the problem. This is also untreated lake water, so it's best just to put back where it came from.

It would take 6000 plants the size of the one we've got to raise Lake Ontario by one degree C. It's a huge, deep volume of water. Winter adds more cold every year too.

When you have renewable cold lake-water cooling, use that. Toronto has already solved this problem with The Well and Enbridge. Building a data centre that's not lake-cooled is lazy-ass thinking. #cdnpoli #onpoli #topoli
