Hello, new followers. Good to see you here. I write about electronic music for my ancient blog and for Electronic Sound magazine. I perform comedy and run an events space. Oh and I'm a stroke survivor, which makes me cool. Please pop me a follow if you like and/or hate those kinds of things.

"It's a miserable tune, all minor chord and morose. The lyrics depict corporate fat cats as predators to be avoided – indeed, to be run away from."

Who’s in the magazine this month so I can write about them?” Fat Roland asked. Interesting we thought. “It’s Delia Derbyshire,” we said. What could possibly go wrong…

Delia Derbyshire – Electronic Sound
I envy Delia Derbyshire and all the music she magically made from toasters and wooden spoons and fart cushions. When I faff around all day, smearing my belly with guacamole to add texture to my…

"I grew up without the internet... I relied on the radio to learn about all the cool new bops. Mainstream radio was pretty tofu, with ballads, AOR and pop factory piffle. Allan's riotous shows on Key 103 felt like a portal into something subversive..." fatroland.blogspot.com/2025/09/set-...
Set for take-off: remembering Stu Allan
There have been many famous radio DJs. There was John Peel, there was that Moyles one, and, er, someone called Dave probably. But for us Man...

I've just typed "Burgess Foundation" as "Burgess Fecundation". Should this be our new name?

I reckon I could fight a goose. I don't want to fight a goose. But it is very important to my masculinity to know that, if given the opportunity, I could fight a goose. I wouldn't win, but let's not get caught up on details.

"Morrissey is apolitical," says the gladioli stormtrooper on his invitation to perform for Reform. Frankly, Mr Skanky, you're as apolitical as Farage trying to paint his face with a St George cross using Churchill's nicotine-stained dribble. What hokum.

I hope people don't find MY secret projects. My 78-page outline for One Direction Butter Mannequins: The Adult Musical is staying in my bottom drawer and that's that. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
David Bowie's final project was a musical set in London
Shortly before his death, the star wrote dozens of notes for a musical set in 18th Century London.

Finally my special skill is given public recognition thanks to @fatroland.bsky.social in @electronicsound.bsky.social mag.
Magazine text. Arrow points at one paragraph: He called it a "wall of sound" because his special skill was layering his studio instruments on top of each other without everything toppling over. This is almost as impressive as my mate Fil who can pack a car boot better than anyone I've ever known. How did he fit the camping chairs in? And the fully inflated paddling pool?! The guy's a spatial wizard.
