reading a comic and seeing the background be very obviously a photo with a monochromatic clip studio filter and automated screen tone just sucks the life out the comic for me.

like AT LEAST trace over the photo if youre gonna use the photo

This is not based on anything factual.
But I think one part of it is that most american people are insanely disinformed and have no clue what's going on most of the time.

So many they only take notice of things if they involve a mainstream celebrity.
