for my #PICO-8 project I lovingly call my pixel guys "dudes" and my pixel women "dudettes". This lead to me using only the "dudettes" for bughunting. I always scream at the screen "why do you do that???" when smth goes wrong, but since I only use dudettes, I now just scream "WHY DUDETTE?" 😅

as a german native speaker I of course instantly had to look at "Spannungsbogen" 😅

update on my #PICO-8 project: NPCs find their way to the next tool (at the moment set to shovel, to see if they ignore axes). Map menu can be shown and used to move around the map. Magic menu can be shown, but does not do anything yet. Next steps: NPC collission, then fighting...

I never really paid attention to this topic, as I never understood the "arguments" of one of the sides, but wasn't one of their main arguments:

given this is my first try, I'm quite satisfied with my pixel NPCs! Also that I thought of this trick that one can shade the two sides of a character slightly different to give the moving illusion! Since then I looked at some tutorials and of course this is nothing new for veterans, but still 😁

Fun Fact: Monty Python and the Holy Grail was funded by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Elton John because at the time the UK's income tax for the highest earners was around 90% so the used it as a tax write off
