Pidge would definitely recommend marching band because "you will find an amazing supportive community and make some of the most fun memories ever".

Thanks Pidge for being a part of our marching band. We look forward to seeing what else you do this year!
Their favorite show to have been a part of is a tie between "Blackout" and "Intoxication" because they love the pop shows. Their proudest accomplishment happened when they heard that their Blackout show made some students from other bands cry because of the music and the rain went so well together
They say, "it just felt like such an accomplishment to finally get a score for our show, even if we came in second to last!" If given the chance to go back in time, they would choose marching band again because it is where they have made their closest friends.
Senior Sunday! Today we celebrate, Pidge! They have been in marching band all 4 years! They play tenor saxophone. Their favorite memories are going to competitions, but especially their real first competition for "Blackout".
After finals, the Marching Vikings were awarded 5th place overall amongst the 11 competitors.

Congrats to our Marching Vikings! We are proud of you!
Today, your Marching Vikings were at Grants Pass High School for the Pride of the Northwest competition. After the prelims, they took home four trophies placing first in High Visual, High General Effect, High Percussion, High Music, and Overall 1st Place in Class A against 5 other schools.
Joselyn is considering auditioning for DCI or to be a coach after high school.

Thanks Joselyn for being a part of marching band and color guard! We look forward to seeing what else you do this year!
If given the chance, she would choose color guard again because "you get to tell the story using equipment and your body". She would recommend color guard to others because it is a great way to bond with people who enjoy the same things as you, get to meet new people and do cool tricks and flips!
Her proudest moment was when she got rifle down, since she struggled more than everyone else. Her favorite show that she has performed in is "Enigma". She feels like it is a more complete production and has AWESOME choreography!!
Happy Friday! No pep band tonight! But we can still celebrate a senior!

Today that senior is Joselyn! She has been in the marching band for 2 years and then color guard for 2 years. She played flute while marching with the band and uses double swing flags, regular flags and rifle with the guard!
Given the chance to do it all over again, Parker would because he learned many different skills and made long time friends.
Parker would recommend marching band to other because, "You learn valuable skills, like working as a team, having discipline, and most importantly, it gives you something to be a part of, which is a very important thing."
His biggest accomplishment is finally being Trombone-1 in the field show coordinate sheet. His favorite marching band show that he performed in was BLACKOUT because it was the band's first competition, and playing popular music was very fun.
Today, we celebrate a FGHS Senior, Parker! Parker has been in marching band for 3 years! He plays the trombone (the best instrument). His favorite memory is playing Mario Kart with two friends on stage after dinner during band camp.
You will be able to see some of our very own musicians in the production.

Emma would recommend color guard because "It's a great way to make friends, get a new hobby, and be part of a team." Thanks Emma for joining our color guard! Maybe we will see you for winter guard?
Being her first year, "Enigma" has been her favorite show to be part of. If given the option to choose color guard all over again, Emma says she would because she gets to dance and enjoys the challenge. Her proudest moment has been getting her 45 toss.
Senior Sunday! Today we are celebrate one of our new color guard members, Emma! She has learned the flags this year. Emma's favorite memory so far has been the guard breakfast they had where they got ready for pictures before practice that day. She really enjoyed the bonding time.
Oliver would recommend marching band saying, "You’ll make new friends that like the same things you do and it’s fun!" After high school, Oliver hopes to practice medicine or become a paramedic! Thanks Oliver for being part of marching band! We look forward to seeing what else you do this year!
His proudest accomplishment is how he has grown as a percussionist, from being scared to hit any of the instruments to playing louder and more confident. His favorite marching band show that he performed in was "Seasons Change".
Senior Saturday!!! Today, we celebrate Oliver who has been in the marching band all 4 years of high school! He has played saxophone and auxiliary. His favorite memory is when the band won 1st place in a competition.
Hey, Pep Band Fans! Did you miss the band last week? Tonight the band will be back during the football game v. McKay at 7:00 pm. Then during halftime, the Marching Vikings will take to the field! We will see you there!
