Hi!

I'm a professional 🎵 VGM composer 🎵

I like anything related to horror (movies, games, real life stories and whatnot). Rock/metal band music, japanese food & animes/mangas!

I'm looking for mutuals, feel free to follow me if you click as I'll follow you too! 🤘🤘🤘

You can create dynamic footsteps sound playback using FMOD, that adds realism as opposite to listening to a single footstep sound in-game all the time.

The trick with thinking that game music is only about composing one-shots and loops is that you're missing out a LOT in terms of what dynamic audio can do. Here's an example of what audio automations and fade-in/out can do between two tracks:

In this piece (which is another sad/melancholic music for my upcoming horror VGM pack), I repeated and modified a recurring musical motif while developing a classic feel with some polyphonic elements.

I've been hell of busy with uni studies but I composed this piece. I'm currently studying the use of "compound intervals", which means bigger distance between intervals (and therefore, richer emotional depth).

I like that idea! In what stage % of development are you?
Wow, I love games like that, collecting and crafting stuff, that with some storytelling elements will kickass! By the way, I'd also love to compose a free post-rock track (could be a perfect opportunity to test some rock band's VSTs that I have here), for you in case you're interested!
Cool stuff! And will you compose the sound design work for it yourself?
The biggest challenge is that some of its aspects kinda need a composer's POV, for instance, you can compose a loop and multiple layers to play on top of that according to certain in-game triggers. I'm myself am studying it as of now, but it's still being a challenge (the code part in my case lol)
Yeah, for sure, as a matter of fact, I'm already studying FMOD a bunch and you can do all sorts of things that those engines can't, like creating a sound programming system to play certain layers of a given loop according to certain in-game triggers.
Survival/escape room as in a horror kind of game? In % of development you already are?
Different idea! Never seen a Goblin Town Builder/Farming RPG, lol. What features are you implementing in it? Will it be solely focusing on building or will it also have Tower Defense mechanics?
The graphics are interesting, the animations feel smooth, and this hammer and shield character is kickass! I wonder what general game mechanics will you be implementing in your game!
That shift of perspective is awesome, even more awesome would be some dynamic audio, such as making the environment sound feels warped when upclose the camera - that could be done with dynamic audio middlewares such as FMOD / Wwise.
Looking good! I like summoning skills, makes me remember when I used to play Lineage 2 as a summoner, lol. Btw, have you thought about implementing dynamic audio, that to make the sound 3D spatialized for instance. You can do that with middlewares such as FMOD.
What? Drinkable tunic? That's a new one! lol
I just realized how the cumulative results of seeking to master both harmony & melody makes one a better composer. Harmony is the foundation, a solid one helps you avoid doing bad musical choices, and melody, it's what makes people remember it later on.

So... I loaded it up but wasn't able to get past the intro lol. In that part where it says to go after a cursor and press "z". Maybe you could ease up that VFX so that it's easier on new players?
Looks interesting, are your releasing a playable demo soon on Itch?
is it the full version that will be ready in 7 days?
I'll check that out soon! I can kinda understand Spanish (I speak Portuguese).
In order to understand and recreate a melodic or harmonic effect in a given piece of music, it's useful to breakdown the analysis into different categories. Here's how I make notes in my research work.

I dig the fallout-like track! It's curious how many western/apocalyptical genres always have that clean guitar doing the gist of the harmony.
