The Witch Head Nebula, IC 2118 , only 900 light years away. Thought to be the remnants of a supernova . Bit of a Rorschach test, but many see the witch's eye, hook nose, and open mouth with sharp chin . Seestar S50 , taken from my farm in Costa Rica .

Another aptly named Galaxy : the Black Eye Galaxy. The dark band is from a dwarf galaxy that collided with it. Taken at our farm in Costa Rica using a Seestar S50 .

Nebula NGC 2359, aptly known as Thor's Helmet is an emission nebula 12,000 light years from earth. It's blue color comes from the star in the center that is a pre stage supernova. Taken in Costa Rica with a Seestar S50

well, its not 'quite' as stringent .... if you are 65 or older, the spanish and civics tests are waived, and if you marry a Tico, the financial statement is waived, as is being a resident first , and no education req. btw, US requirements for citizenship are similar-except no language test

I have a seestar s50- it’s an astrophotography camera/ telescope. It’s a little thing all robotic- you just tell it what you want to see- it goes there and images it. A light year is the distance light travels in a year- around 8 trillion km

NGC 2174 , known as the Monkey Head Nebula. A mere 6300 light years away. Taken last night in Costa Rica warming up my Seestar S50 for a night of astrophotography . If you rotate the image like I did, you can see the head of a monkey- well, I think I see it ;-)

For at least the last 10 years, this female Laughing Falcon has called our costa rican finca home . She is courting males right now. Sadly , the tree where she nested has fallen, but she has found another .

surprisingly, this is not a tiny home in CR... Many homes in CR are +- 600 sq ft , and you can buy them prefab . You should investigate what is already available here

A regional endemic , found only in Central America from Guatemala to Panama , the stunning Shining Honeycreeper likes the forest edge . This one photographed in Mastatal, Puriscal Costa Rica

One of the most common , yet beautiful, birds here on the finca: A Lesson's Motmot . The Neotropic equivalent of Bee-eaters in Africa and Asia , residing in the same bird family

I am slowly moving over here to Blue Sky, and will be moving my Bird of the Day. One of the dry season visitors to our finca here in Costa Rica are these White-crowned Parrots , usually a lowland tropics species, but visits us early in the year.
