In all our time in An Taisce, this is one of the biggest threats to environmental protection that we have ever faced. These proposed changes are clearly unlawful, undemocratic & unfair.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Paul Connolly's passing. He was an extraordinary individual whose immense contributions to Ireland's marine environment and coastal communities across Ireland and NW Europe left an indelible legacy. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends & all who knew him.

The government now wants to make it super expensive (>€100,000) for ordinary people to go to court to protect the environment

Ireland's most recent report card for compliance with the Habitats Directive makes for grim reading. 90% of protected habitats are in trouble. We know what needs to be done but lack the political will to change course.
