Or just list some examples of form in the intro to the comp, but specify that entrants name the form they’ve used when they submit their poems?

I wonder if there’s a link to a freely available resource - thinking of Glyn Maxwell, maybe, who’s keen on it. But there again perhaps you shouldn’t have to teach the entrants what it is…

Imagine! such flexibility …

Same with LRB’s take on exhibitions, review tends to creep in just under the wire when it’s about to close …

Thanks Graeme. I’ve just read that poem of Raine’s, new to me, and enjoyed his perspectives.

I also recommend @ailbhedarcy.bsky.social ‘s beautiful contemporary response to Christensen in her @bloodaxebooks.bsky.social collection Insistence, which considers parenthood in a time of climate crisis. Both are books I return to.

Thank you @poetrysociety.bsky.social ! It’s a wonderful translation by Susanna Nied which really captures the unfurling nature of Christensen’s Fibonacci sequence, from its rooted opening - “apricot trees exist; apricot trees exist” 🌿🌿

📚 It's August, which means the #SealeyChallenge is now underway! To help you on your journey to read a book every day this month, The Poetry Society has gotten in touch with poets we've recently worked with for some recommendations. (...)
Fiona Larkin recommends 'alphabet' by Inger Christensen. She says of the book: "Alphabet by Inger Christensen is a rhapsody for the natural world and an urgent call to protect it from human threats. Although those are of its time (the Cold War, and the legacy of the atomic bomb) her message and its urgency ring true even more strongly today."
