I'm so fucking tired of men in media.

Overdone. Trite. Hackneyed. Excessive. Unoriginal. Boring. Cliché. Pandering. Lowest-common-denominator algo-chasing mass-market slop.

Enough. No more men in media.

Thinking about the time I was at a quantum gravity meeting and the man across from me was talking to me and a man next to him turned and said in all seriousness “don’t talk to her, she’s difficult” and it was because I had reacted ”badly” to racism. Meanwhile their heroes were hanging with Epstein.

Saw this when I went to block. Lol. It's a big leftist virtue signaling conspiracy to want to protect your employees and patrons from getting COVID and other illnesses. Where have we seen this said before? 🤔

ICE racially profiled Edith, a Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota woman and severely brutalized her after ripping her from her vehicle!

The goal is only 2k, we can surpass that!

Can't really do anything about it, a lot of this is the consequence of the preponderance of transfem art about us over transfem art by us, which isn't getting fixed anytime soon.

Through it all I can't help but notice that the truth of how much trans women are placed under a panopticon and fetishized for all the ways in which we're presumed to be inherently or ontologically subversive, deviant, non-conforming and "outside of gender" gets elided.

You get people arguing that it's binary and racist and colonial to "only want pretty passing trans women" as though no trans woman of color has ever been pretty or passed (fun), arguments about trans butches and third genders and non-binary identity, every accusing each other of conservatism.

And then it always ends up with arguments between largely early transitioners and closeted trans girls who say they feel represented by such art, set against mostly girls who've been out a while and have noticed how much others are obsessed with finding the man in us, and it's very exhausting.

So we get this odd cyclical discourse about how important it is to celebrate non-passing, early-transition, or otherwise "non-stereotypical" depictions of trans women when frankly it's as "non-stereotypical" to depict us as plane jane feminine women as anything us, because there isn't much anyway.

You know I genuinely don't understand why a lot of people seem to think that depicting trans women as "gender-ambiguous" or "effeminate males who long to be seen as Real Women but can't" is like, "breaking stereotypes".

That's the dominant narrative on trans women. It's what most people think.

Buddy the left position is no borders. Open borders is moderate.
In general a lot of moderate liberals find it very annoying that leftists, radical liberals, and libertarians all end up at open borders, missing the "obvious" middle ground position, but the thing is that if you examine the issue at all, borders are pretty damn hard to actually justify
You're not going to believe this, but closed borders are racist. They always have been. They always will be. You can indulge in smoke-filled dorm room discussions of hypothetically non-racist immigration restrictions, but in the real world closed borders are racist af.

that’s more like, a likely projection than a doomer worry.
My doomer-worry about AI is not that the LLMs become omnipotent and take over the world but that the wealthy and powerful use it as a means to consolidate power and marginalize or lay off skilled workers and also everything about our technological and political and social life gets worse

As per the story, there were EIGHT complaints in relation to gender services in total out of 12,000 users, and none of those were "Help! I'm being transed by my homophobic parents," because, as everyone with a brain knows, that was always blithering nonsense.

As anyone who takes a cursory look at the "gender critical" movement would know, transphobia and homophobia go hand in hand. Parents who don't want their kids to be gay in the UK don't try to "trans" them, they try to make them straight.

They would hate having a trans kid even more than a gay kid.

You weren't talking to service users, you were talking over their heads, to other people, people who often had obvious anti-trans agendas, who saw it is as a poor outcome if ANYONE was trans, which does not align with the outcome desired by service users. They know they are trans.

Hi @hannahsbee.bsky.social,

There will come a time when you will have to face up to what you've done because of this era of anti-trans hysteria.

Per an FOI request, Pogust Goodhead have ZERO cases against Tavistock, when 1000 were claimed three years ago.

The real Tavistock Clinic scandal: 1,000 court cases that never materialised
A FoI request for the data behind the media hysteria over the Tavistock Clinic presents quite a different picture

This is exactly right. There's a good chunk of research that says prejudice tends to inflate the perceived size of target groups. Scientists don't necessarily agree on why, but there are theories. I believe it's a combination of normal cognitive errors and deliberate manufacturing/manipulation.
This is purposeful. Not only to spread disinfo, but to make their ignorant base feel like trans people are everywhere and trying to take over everything. Everything is a fear tactic to distract from the fact the GOP are the worst evil than anything they make up about trans people.
