brain smooth like marble

who likes to observe and analyze everything that us people do in his home, and now he has less energy to do as much of that as he would like to. i will bring it up with the vet, but i think he just needs to adjust and realize it’s okay to slow down a little as you get older.

i still do have to take him back for a follow up test to make sure the dosage is right and make sure his heart and liver are doing okay, but at least one thing is improving. he seems a bit depressed about his lack of energy which is kind of funny but he’s just an extremely smart and curious cat

i was away from him & my home for two weeks (hence the lack of posting) to dogsit for my brother (commitment made before zuko’s diagnosis and medication) and as soon as i got home i noticed he seemed less bony. it’s reassuring to see positive results like that already

i have some good news on zuko as well! he’s been taking his felimazole very easily and consistently for a little over three weeks and he’s already gained almost a pound of weight back! he sleeps more, and though he still gets the zoomies and goes flying around the furniture, it happens less often.

i appreciate the sentiment but i have tried that and unfortunately he is just way too smart for that lol. it works with other foods that he can’t have, but he will not be kept from chocolate donut unless he is physically stopped. he’s a fiend for it

my cat zuko’s absolute favorite food in the world is chocolate glazed donut. he would eat it out of my mouth if i let him. he will sample other baked good crumbs but he will eat as much chocolate donut as he possibly can before it is taken away from him

i didn’t really get a lot of time to ask the vet how it might affect him. most of what i found through my own research was obviously the worst case scenario horror stories. i know every cat’s experience will be different but i’m curious about how much exactly other people’s cats changed w the meds

place besides the extreme energy which he’s had his whole life and being very skinny but he’s also always been pretty skinny even though he always has access to dry food. i want him healthy but i will be sad if he loses ALL of his energy because he’s so fun to watch and seems to have a great time…

has anyone else around here ever had a cat go on felimazole? zuko has been a ‘bouncing off the walls nonstop’ kind of cat from day one and he’s only had five doses so far but he definitely seems to have less frantic energy already. he didn’t really have much for hyperthyroid symptoms in the first
