I worked on this batch of sketches for months. It's meant to fill a narrative hole for #Hetherev that I couldn't have covered in single illustration pieces, but didn't want to spend a lot of time on.
Basically, Herman shows up at an abandoned tavern Jacky has been living in and stays for a few days.
Herman squeezes rain water out of his hair while wearing a loose brown raincoat. He flicks some water off of his hand while he talks to Jacky, who is off panel. "Realtalk. I wasn't actually looking anymore. I mean, I was a little. But I didn't expect results." He looks to the side and grins with a little bit of menace. "But here you are! And you still haven't blocked me." After a pause he looks suspiciously doubtful, like he's wondering if she wants to block him and can't. "Do... you need me to show you how?" Herman holds up a blanket. Jacky looks up at him skeptically. There's a significant height difference (he is 6'3''. She's 4'11", both in their 20s). "I don't wanna crash your space. Why don't I stay in the back?" He gets annoyed with her look and leans over her, grinning with menace (but not too much- there's a little flirtation in there). "Although, if you keep looking at me like you're waiting for a crime I might commit a few." Herman (a tall redhead) looking bitchy while talking to Jacky, a short redhead. The caption next to him says "Bitching about something that has nothing to do with her." He suddenly lifts his arm with a yarn tether wrapped around it. Jacky leans back like the movement startled her (Herman is 6'3''ish). He stops talking and looks at her. The yarn has retreated back to his arm. He looks grumpy, but he's figuring out if she's actually upset. In the last panel he flicks the yarn tether at her nose and looks away, having decided that no, she's not. "Yeah, I'd duck if I didn't know me too." He probably returns to bitching. Various doodles of Herman pestering Jacky with his yarn. She doesn't know what it is. It's just a rainbow snake looking thin in her space. In the middle they're sitting next to each other and he's giving her side eye like he caught her investigating it. "I promise if you ask me about it it won't wreck your stray cat image."
