Thanks for sharing this. Just got back from an evening walk around the neighborhood and it’s pretty much normal, if a bit windy. Folks were out walking their dogs, Rosalia and other spots were busy, and it was a beautiful evening.

Will sleep better tonight if the would-be fireb*mber is in custody.

In more positive ice cream news, this pint of mint chip ice cream I picked up last week at Fletcher’s is the best mint chip I’ve ever had.

i keep thinking about the staff and regulars and the extended friends/family of fletchers, and the whole lgbt+ community. being the target of a hate crime this reprehensible - an indiscriminate fireb*mbing no less - is awful and nobody should ever have to experience that. ever.

thanks for posting this. i definitely need to do that, and get in the habit of doing that.

a few people have asked me “why did they do this?!” and it’s a natural reaction. but imo hatred on this scale is so irrational that “motives” become irrelevant.

violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.

yeah, called 911 right away, was able to give them the plate number and description of the car immediately. spent half an hour talking to the authorities and sending in photos to the mpd digital evidence system.

thanks for passing along the contact info, will send them the info/photos i have. ❤️

i’m shook in some weird ways. so glad nobody was hurt and that the perpetrator was so massively incompetent.
October 20, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Yeah. Myself and a few other witnesses stuck around to talk to the authorities. Thankfully my instinct to snap photos right away allowed me to give the plate number to 911 right away. Hoping it helped.

Dude. For real. In these moments I’m so thankful that competence so often scales inversely with hatred.
October 20, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Stuck around to talk to the authorities with a few other bystanders. MPD and it sounded like one or more federal agencies are on the case.

Honestly this has me shook. Makes all the hateful rhetoric seem vividly real. Thankfully competence seems to scale inversely with hatred.

Just witnessed someone trying to fireb*mb Fletcher’s Ice Cream in NE. Saw a dude acting weird next to a parked car in front of the place. I walked by, heard a smash through my earbuds, smelled gasoline/kerosine. Turned around, snapped some photos instinctively. Thankfully they suck at molot*vs.

Men can get the HPV vaccine too, although some doctors may need some convincing about that. I talked to my doc and got the older 2-valent version done in 2013, when I was in my early 30’s.

Doc researched it in front of me and was like, “Huh, how about that. It’ll cost ya. But, yeah, let’s go.”
Hey women over 45, if you have the means you can advocate for yourself and get the #HPVVaccine. It isnt cheap $300 each dose of 3, but to prevent #cervicalCancer its worth it, even if you have tested positive for #HPV there are 4 main strains that are covered in vaccine. Get it, I did #GetVaccinated

Honestly I dunno but @katiesisneros.bsky.social birbposting has been worth the price of admission.

Being a minor on 1990’s BBSes, newsgroups, and proto-forums was a totally bizarre/harrowing experience too. But then again being a teenager is probably a bizarre experience in any era.

Just saw that MSP Mag has been following the crew as they’ve worked on getting it running! I know what I’m reading this afternoon!

Been walking by a few times a week, peeking in the windows and wondering what they’ve been up to. Cool to see it from their perspective.

I’ve been living under a metaphorical rock for years now and hadn’t heard about this at all! I need to learn the lore now that I’ve become smitten with their delicious dumplings and sauces and pickles.

Had some pretty great dumplings at the new Saturday Dumpling Co spot in my neighborhood, in the old Glam Doll/Totinos space. Was nice and busy in there for their second day open. Looking forward to many more visits!

Every 5 years or so I end up down the Homestar rabbit hole and it always brings joy. Then the one non-Homestar thing I remember from the era pops in my head and even more joy rolls in.

Hi Bluesky! And hello to the old friends and new followers!

I’ve been biking around Minneapolis since the late 2000’s, made some of my first friends here from 30 Days of Biking rides. Happy to see everyone here! Hope to see ya out there.

Here’s a few random photos from past cycling adventures. :)

Thank you for these, David. Slowly getting around to following all the “class of 2010” MSP Twitter/Flickr folks has been pretty fun! And lots of newer faces too! These collections are great.
