animal death /
not to sound crazy but i love ants. Theres something so reverential about the scaffolding of sand and stones and grass they build around the deceased. Its like a halo. A soft landing after a hard fall.

a dead mourning dove, wings folded, lying on its back on pavement. Behind its obscured head is an intentional gathering of small rocks and various other materials to mitigate the decomposition process. Ants gather. A fly and bee are sitting on its chest.
