My 11-year-old, from the back of the van, requested that we listen to If Books Could Kill. (My parenting skills are above reproach.) A while later, when I told him I was driving slowly in the rain to avoid the little frogs on the road, I said, (1/2)

Just finished last night: 4.25⭐ First half felt like I was reading David Copperfield... and "Pippa"? and Christmas in the ending? Am I imagining Dickens here and there? Loved Tartt's writing style but could use a trim here and there, esp. at the end. Still a good read! #booksky #📚💙

I've been recommending Robin Hobb's Ship of Magic to my husband because I know he'd love it almost as much I did, but he didn't want to borrow my Kindle. So the paperback arrived today and the 900pg. TOME he hefted out of the package... I had no idea! I flew through it and raced to the next one! 💙📚
