Several years ago the hospital I go to sold off a big chunk of the car park and the rest is run by a private company, so they get the money now. And it is exceedingly difficult to get a space to park at all. Public transport is not an option for me
Free parking just means less money for front line services such as children's medicine and cancer care.
Car parking should be self financing. Car parks cost money to build and maintain.
Paying for parking also manages demand.
What about free buses for those who can't drive?
Thought not.
