But yes, Angel is very much VAL’s property and he wouldn’t be happy with Vox doing anything to Angel without Val’s permission.

Had a thought… What if that scene where they bring the gift baskets happens before this song, and Charlie unwittingly says something that causes Lute to focus her anguished grief on Charlie? We know Charlie is capable of putting her foot in it unintentionally.

I’m working under the assumption that the Adam we see is a hallucination, and thus a figment of Lute’s mind that may or may not reflect Adam’s actual opinions on anything.
