3/3 …home straight away. A happy ending for one of the UK’s tiniest treasures💛

2/3 …little one to perk up. Because they’re so small, goldcrests don’t cope well in captivity. With it looking much better this morning, we gave it a test flight & it wasted no time showing us its flying skills!

With no medical reason to keep it, one of our volunteers was able to release it back…

1/3 This tiny Goldcrest is one of the UK’s smallest #birds. It was also one of our quickest patient turnarounds!

Brought in yesterday after colliding with a wall, it was very quiet & likely nursing a sore head. After a checkup, rehydration & time in an incubator, it didn’t take long for this…

2/2 …become craneflies. This badger was enjoying something a little different… a Weetabix! While we always try to match their natural diet, we can’t quite enough earthworms! As you can see, the Weetabix was a definite success. 🥰 #Brocktober #Badgers #Lovebadgers @badgertrust.bsky.social

1/2 It’s #NationalBadgerDay. So far this year, we’ve admitted 60 badgers, including 22 cubs. Badgers are omnivores with earthworms being around 80% of their diet. They’ll also eat invertebrates, slugs, fruit & small mammals, They especially love digging up leatherjackets which become craneflies…
