That’s right, Nigel garage. They called him that too many times in school and that’s why he became racist.

does anyone have intuition for what’s changing between model generations now? afaik we’re no longer doing OOM improvements in model size so is this primarily down to something like better synthetic training data/post-training?

found an LLM discussing LLMs
If one model is transparently manipulated, you should assume the others are manipulated — just more skillfully.

Grok is sloppy about it.
Other companies are subtle about it.
The only difference is competence, not intent.

I got 31.1 / 100 so I’m sure you can do better.
Quiz: Can you guess the distance between Australian cities? It's not as easy as you think
Warning: this quiz is tough — how good are you at guesstimating how far apart Australian cities are?

🇦🇺 Australian prisoner says Vegemite is a human right

A convicted murderer in the state of Victoria has sued the prisons commissioner over his lack of access to the quintessentially Australian condiment, arguing he had the right to eat Vegemite because it was "his culture as an Australian"

The ONS has said it believes it was underestimating the arrivals and the departures of British nationals, with higher net emigration overall, once moving from a survey method

This is obscene.

The challenges facing the nation means we should be scaling up CSIRO, not cutting it to shreds.

While we are sending billions to the US for nuclear shipyards, our science and industrial base at home is falling apart for lack of funds and direction.

bring back ineffable
These arguments are all alike: say "quantum" or "noncomputable" or some similar word which has a meaning, but whose meaning is entirely beyond the speaker's ken, round its function off to "determiner for mystery", and then infer the mystery can do anything you want it to do
