Tragedy should bring out our better angels. Minnesota nice means respecting one another, leading with empathy, and treating our fellow Minnesotans based on who they are, not what side they’re on. We believe unity is still possible.

What’s frustrating for those of us who aren’t stuck in a partisan fever dream is that this won’t be called by members of his own party. When tribal loyalty shields clearly unacceptable behavior, our politics lose their moral grounding while setting a terrible example for our kids.
