Just another soul trying to get a little better each day. Husband. Father. MBA who should've gone to law school. Wants everyone to be okay.
@rohitforatlanta.bsky.social As someone who has followed your race with great interest, I want to extend my sincerest appreciation and admiration for your well-run and well-fought campaign. 2,772 votes is so close yet so far away, but I hope you're already planning your next run. Good luck to you!

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for people who made the ultimate sacrifice. Today, we honor those who sacrificed by relaxing and enjoying the freedoms they died to preserve. So, we’re supposed to have fun, but we should never, ever wish anyone alive a “Happy Memorial Day”.

The Attorney General is so unserious.
If you’re a prosecutor who is serious about obtaining a conviction, you don’t go on Fox and talk about the (alleged) facts of the case like this.
Has Bondi read the Justice Manual? Has Bondi heard of pretrial publicity motions? How about bar ethics rules?

I won’t call Jesus woke, because I don’t want to reduce Him to our terms, but he sure as hell wasn’t some greedy hard hearted genocidal Fascist.

This is so true. It’s like they never read a word of a Gospel.
Nowhere does Jesus tell anyone to hoard their wealth, treat vulnerable people like dogs, and disobey the law. I’m also pretty sure Jesus wouldn’t be too keen on the idolatry.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia's membership or involvement in any gang or him being a terrorist is irrelevant to the issue at hand. What matters is that he receives the process he's due. What matters is that the government does not assume a prerogative above the law.

If you're at all concerned about the legal goings on these days, you have to follow @joycewhitevance.bsky.social. She's authoritative and deeply informative. For instance, she just clued me in that Trump might not be able to pardon anyone convicted of criminal contempt.

If you're mad about CECOT, you need to know that we do it here too!
Working with researchers at Yale’s Investigative Reporting Lab, Sarah Stillman studied more than 40 lawsuits involving claims of starvation, dehydration, and severe neglect, filed against more than a dozen correctional entities and county governments.

I don't think DJT is up for this fight. Just because Harvard makes the lawyers who populate the firms he can punk around doesn't mean Harvard is going to fold like they do.
Trump’s sputtering response to Harvard standing up to him is yet another reason why institutions should refuse to bend the knee. He’s a paper tiger, unable to argue his own case.

This seems to be the only person in the sports world even vaguely aware of what's going on in the world.
Steve Kerr wore a Harvard basketball shirt after the Warriors’ win tonight: “Yes, this is me supporting Harvard. Way to go. Way to stand up to the bully.”

Here's a clue as to why arguments about the rule of law and preserving democracy fail to win elections: folks are into those things when they agree with the outcomes and couldn't care less about them when they don't.

Authoritarians care about popularity only in the sense that they don't want people in the streets with nooses and pitchforks. The jitters of the spineless independents who put him into office don't bother him at all.

I'm sorry, but shit is just out of whack:
Total endowments of the eight Ivy League schools: $146 billion.
Elon Musk's net worth: $367 billion.
Home Depot's Market Cap: $355 billion.
Tesla is worth 4 times more than Toyota.

This article misses the point. Harvard being unscathed is not a necessary condition of them battling with Trump. They are prepared to have less because the goal they fight for is more important.
That's called courage. Columbia and the law firms should take note.

Why Harvard's endowment won't save it from Trump
There are a lot of strings attached to that $53.2 billion.

If you're outraged about CECOT, you should be outraged by this as well. The fact it's happening within our borders makes it so much worse.
Sarah Stillman investigates deaths related to starvation, dehydration, and neglect in county jails across the U.S.—a crisis sometimes covered up by private health companies and government officials.
Starved in Jail
Why are incarcerated people dying from lack of food or water, even as private companies are paid millions for their care?
