PSA for everyone going to protests
It's not, but since law enforcement isn't enforcing the law, this is legal by default. If a law is not enforced, it's no longer a law.
If they won't identify as law enforcement and give Meghan reason for detainment, treat them as enemy combatants trying to kidnap and kill someone.

OK, but what if I want a hoard of pigeons to join me in being pests?
Weird how people who think human rights are for everyone include brown kids in the Middle East as part of that 'everyone'. 🙄

If you know nothing about him, how can you be so against him?

Your first sentence goes right back to what I was saying earlier- your generation fell so hard for the "wasting your vote on a 3rd party" propaganda that you can't even accept that it IS propaganda meant to keep you nicely tucked into the broken system, never willing to actually fix it.
If the DNC doesn't support you, they won't let you run on their ticket or with their support, nor will they let their delegates vote for you in the primaries. You need to learn how our system actually runs, instead of continuing to spread propaganda meant to make you complacent to the corruption.
What nonsense is this? He ran as a Democrat. You can't rewrite history we LIVED just because you don't like it.

You admit the system doesn't want to change, and then you insist it can be changed from within it?
And how am I spineless for pointing out the issues?
It's not a stance. I WORKED in politics. I saw how candidates who didn't fit the mold were not given the political and financial support needed to win, and how delegates were given to the DNC candidates over the voted for candidates. This is a known issue.
The issue is that the primaries are still only what the DNC is allowing to run- more pro-Isreal, pro-genocide, spineless Dems who won't stand up to the system that put them in power. That's why so many people don't vote in them- they've seen that it doesn't matter what we want (eg Bernie 2016).
It's just been one shit show after another. I'm so tired of it all.
Great, and then you guys stopped. Polling stations have been closing in record numbers, it's increasingly difficult to get an ID, minimum wage is stagnant and education is costly, making it hard to do anything much less vote. You all need to take responsibility instead of living in the past.
And that's because you have had privileges, Barb. Survivor's Bias is a huge issue for your gen. "I didn't experience this negative part of policy, so it's not real/a problem." That attitude has been exploited by politicians for decades.
More propaganda your gen fell for. Do you know why people don't vote? Because they can't thanks to policy (distance, time off, accessibility, illness, prison, etc) and because they feel disenfranchised. That's it. No one isn't voting because they are "washing their hair".
And that is literally what I was just explaining to someone else, all of you older voters in particular fell for the "don't waste your vote" propaganda that has prevented our system from being more open, more fair, and less constantly "vote for the lesser evil". It's why we are screwed.
The system is set up to prevent independent parties from succeeding. The propaganda for "don't waste your vote" is far too heavily ingrained, particularly in those over 40.
Where on earth did I say or imply that?
