CG 4, commonly referred to as God's Hand, is a star-forming region located in the Puppis constellation, about 1,300 light-years (400 pc) from Earth. It is one of several objects referred to as "cometary globules", because its shape is similar to that of a comet.

NGC 346 is a young open cluster of stars with associated nebula (approx. 200 ly across) located in the Small Magellanic Cloud in the southern constellation of Tucana. It is a region of high mass star formation.

The main central section of this nebula is a wispy blue and white, denoting ionised oxygen-3. Traces of red nebulosity, due to hydrogen alpha, are at the bottom and right. Stars are scattered across the image.

I saw Saturn with my own eyes last night through the first eyepiece I've owned for ages. No photos, just visual. It reminded me of the first time I saw it through my little 2" Tasco refractor 50+ years ago...still just the most marvellous sight in the sky 🪐

Eagle nebula, aka the Pillars of Creation. I'm not a fan of the Hubble palette but it seemed to work better here than the other versions I tried.

NGC 3293, the Gem Cluster, is an open star cluster in the Carina constellation. It consists of blue supergiants and a 7th magnitude pulsating red supergiant, V361 Carinae.

NGC 3293, the Gem Cluster, is an open cluster in the Carina constellation. It consists of more than 100 stars brighter than 14th magnitude in a 10 arc minute field, the brightest of which are blue supergiants of apparent magnitude 6.5 and 6.7. There is also a 7th magnitude pulsating red supergiant, V361 Carinae. This image shows a beautiful expanse of red nebulosity onto which the blue and red stars of the Gem Cluster are laid.
