It will have a steeks cut to open the armholes and the back. (Dolls have big heads, a back opening will allow me to put it on her without having a ridiculously large neckline.) The whole process will be chronicled on Patreon. (There's a link in my profile.)

This is my own design, using dear Elizabeth Zimmerman's Norwegian ski sweater method from "Knitting Workshop" (from Schoolhouse Press).

Doll number two, whom I have christened Thaïs after the legendary Greek courtesan who instigated the burning of Persepolis, will have a stranded colorwork jumper in the same yarns from Woolia (by Gepard) that I used for the first doll's outfit.

The vintage doll who will be the centerpiece of the holiday windows at @lestricoteursvolants has been joined in the workroom by a second vintage doll. It was inevitable. More than one window, more than one doll.
A length of handknitting in a simple diamond color work pattern. The diamonds are worked in red, the background alternates between white and pink. The balls of working yarn are arranged along the right side.

The pattern offers two variations: a single and a double width. Each kit includes enough yarn to make two single scarves or one double scarf.

Fleuron was inspired by antique French book illustrations in my collection. I shared them with the incomparable Canon Hand Dyes, who somehow managed to evoke the luminous quality of ink on paper in wool.

Knit Stars Season 10 open enrollment continues...my affiliate link* follows.

This is Fleuron, one of the exclusive pattern kits designed to accompany my masterclass in shadow knitting, the intriguing structure that hides patterns inside what appears, at first, to be a simple striped fabric.

There is a guest in the workroom, using the floor, pins, and blocking mats to pin out a shawl.

[Nice animals of my neighborhood, an occasional series]

A mésange bleue (Cyanistes caeruleus) from the courtyard appears at one of the kitchen windows to ask about borrowing a cup of insects.
A little bird with a yellow breast and a splash of blue on the top of its head, perched on the crossbar of a Parisian window. In the near background are a potted rosemary and a potted pink heather.

Pete Hegseth obviously gets off on the sort of specialty cinematic entertainment in which lean, fit soldiers smack one another around, but I think it's terribly unprofessional for him to use the US Armed Forces as his personal spank bank.

This scarf evokes the gorgeous undulations of the star dancer in motion, which some considered a living embodiment of Art Nouveau. The colors by Canon Hand Dyes were drawn from 19th-century French fashion illustrations.

A native of Illinois, Fuller created a distinctive style of dance in which her flowing robes were illuminated by colored electric light. Her brilliant arabesques were famously captured by such artists as Jules Chéret and Toulouse-Lautrec.

"Loie Fuller," a scarf I designed as a part of the companion kit for my Knit Stars course in shadow knitting (link in profile), celebrates the art of an American who lit up Paris in the late 19th century.

Hurrah! Have a blast. I look forward to seeing how yours comes out--especially the beading. May I ask, where did you source the silk?

I have bought lovely things from them. A splendid bookshop with excellent service 💜💜💜
