Spot on. I’m hearing deep disquiet from inspectors about the quality of the training and a realisation of Emperor’s new clothes. I’m not convinced lessons from Coroner’s report and Gilbert Learning Review have been adequately addressed.

The decision to extend the franchise to 16-17 year olds should not be put in a silo. It should be accompanied by accountability measures ensuring that schools take seriously the national curriculum subject of citizenship which has been marginalised since Michael Gove became Education Secretary
