Oh we didn’t even need to go to Tesco there was a shop right next to Kennington station

They were this close to finding us

We got lemoned right outside Kennington (we weren’t even that close) but thankfully we were near to a shop

An intense day, but Team Sloane Square (me and @marshalltisdale.bsky.social ) eeked out an 11th hour victory over Team Loughborough Junction ( @tijgerstreep.bsky.social and @ikisnick.bsky.social )

Week from hell appears to be over - finally signed to keep my current place after a very stressful amount of to and fro, mixed messages, and the (in my opinion) pretty dodgy activities of my outgoing letting agency.

Still processing my thoughts but Eddington may actually be my least favourite film of 2025 so far

The electoral commission has active applications from both ‘The Left Party’ and ‘Your Party’, which strongly implies that one or both of them are a result of people stealing the name before Sultana + Corbyn can register, which is sorta what happens when you announce a party and then do nothing

Need to put his head on but generally happy with the paint scheme

Giving into my base instincts and getting mildly back into wargaming (Necromunda), I understand if you no longer want to sleep with me but I’m living my truth x

Someone broke into my car last night, presumably looking for valuables, and I’m honestly lowkey offended that they didn’t steal ANY of the vinyls that I was temporarily storing in the boot.

Reflects very poorly on the musical taste of the would-be thief

No it’s very good I am enjoying it

Reading about horrors beyond my comprehension :3

Deeply upsetting yet brave words, bestie

A shame that it’s off to such a rocky start because there is a *version* (please don’t turn into the Workers Party of Britain 2.0) of this party I would protest vote for against Labour

It gets very ridiculous in the best possible way after the 30 year timeskip. Makes the mystery of who built the big alien gates in the show look quite tame

The final trilogy really appeals to me as it leans more into the ‘cosmic horror beyond our comprehension’ (in a way that is kinda impossible to adapt to TV without a Rings of Power level budget) aspect, but considering how generally grounded the series starts it feels very earned by that point

As much as I enjoy the series (I think it’s a very solid retelling), the book is even better in my opinion.

Plus if you work your way through the first 6 books you get to the trilogy of books at the end which are all absolutely insane and crank the stakes up by a factor of 100

TL;DR it’s game of thrones in space but the authors actually finished this series (twice! They wrote an extra trilogy set 30 years after the main 6 books just for shits and giggles)

Not to wax too lyrical but it’s a fantastic piece of ‘hard sci-fi’ that approximates a lot of genuine science and physics (with some exaggerations) but that still feels generally grounded. Blends relatable social/political tensions with some more ‘out there’ space stuff in a very compelling way too.
