Parked the Ravener to squeeze in the Mini of the Month and test my Battleclade camo idea. The servitor came out pretty decent (minus a missed mould line), but I don’t think it’ll work for the Battleclade… Servitors have too many bits that are neither armour nor uniform.

The Ravener Prime is done. I briefly considered a different colour scheme for Typhon, but in the end I stuck with my homebrew Kraken colours so the Hormagaunts fit right in with the rest of my Nids.

Ok, let’s do this. But without a challenge this time. Having a goal was great and kept me on my toes, but it also made me rush and take shortcuts. And it’s no coincidence that the last few minis I spent more time on turned out to be my best.
So: slow and steady from here on out.

The Librarian in Terminator Armour is done!
I saved this guy for last because I knew he’d demand every bit of skill I picked up this year and he absolutely did.
But I’m honestly incredibly proud of the result.
52-in-52 is complete, four weeks ahead of schedule.

Painting the runes not once but four times almost broke me 😂 but for a first try I think the OSL effect turned out okay.
The Scriptor is still ongoing, but the end of project 52-in-52 is coming into view.

Looked way easier when Duncan did it. And, well, his result definitely looked better 😂
Jokes aside, I think it turned out okay. The blends could be smoother and the edge highlights cleaner, but all in all I’m not unhappy with it. #WarhammerCommunity #WIP

Tackled one of the greaves of the Scriptor tonight to get a feel for him. Yep… this will be a challenge.
A bit worried though that four layers of different blue plus the white highlights are clogging the recesses, #WarhammerCommunity should I thin with water instead of Lahmian? #WIP

And the Parasite of Mortrex is done! Had a blast painting it. Gluing it together… not so much. Nothing seemed to fit quite right, as the gaps in the pictures clearly show.

Since I’m making good progress with the Parasite, I figured I’d give glazing another try. And holy cow, pulling the moisture out of the brush after loading the paint actually worked. Not the nicest glaze job ever, but for the first time, it really looks like one. 😁

The Captain is done! Can’t believe I actually managed to finish him in a week. Lots of stuff I’d never tried before — some worked out great, some not so much. But overall, I’m really happy with how he turned out.
