It’s such torture, but it was also fun making updates to the earlier chapters to up the quality for new readers, too.

And at some point, writing the latter part of the long fic just becomes a fanfic of your own fanfic with all the re-reading You have to do 🤭😂

The rewrite pulls like things into the same sentence, and flows from sensory to emotional attachment.

The prev. one had those, but jumped around.

I make small updates like this like on my lunch breaks sometimes and then forget to delete as I go. Hoping this helps me be slightly more responsible.

I kinda ramble about rewrites here a lot. I’ve noticed I forget to delete the previous paragraph when posting, so then there’s just a stray, repeat section published 🤦‍♀️

Happy to announce I discovered color coding, though! Feels obvious, now.

Blue is the subtle rewrite, black is the old version.

What level of crash out would I be if I rewrote Ch. 15 as bottom Shadow?

It’s been plaguing me and I’m genuinely like ahhhh I made the wrong narrative choice 😖😳😭

I’d save and post the bottom sonic version of the story separate for those that have that pref.

A year ago, I started writing again to process a few breaks in my life, then it became a daily habit. Now there's 220K+ words out there, which is honestly wild 🤣

Writing’s helped me unearth so much I’d kept buried ✍️💙 So glad I tried typing it out last October + to have made amazing friends since 🤗
