I’d like to kinda build a design system or a style guide where I list the guidelines like typography, colors, spacing, etc.

Is there a good, preferably free and even more preferably open source alternative to #Figma?

That tool should be easy to use since I’m not a designer 🫠

As far as I love to have a good dark mode (also by default with no light alternative at all) I must admit I’m currently not planning to add a dark mode.

I have an idea of a beautiful theme which I started working on but to this day I cannot imagine this being dark or darkened 🫠

So I basically have entered the „Content Phase“ of the project.

Main goals:
- Provide a base theme which I just extend for further features
- Provide content capabilities to write basic pages, articles, help sections, rules, etc
- Configure internationalization

What I’ve done so far after I decided to switch to Drupal:

- Set up a fresh install
- Configured scheduled deployments for alpha, beta and gamma/live environments
- installed essentials like Gin Admin Theme, Paragraphs, Pathauto
- opened a feature branch for content related stuff

Funny thing: I just decided to restart the whole app and kinda archive what I have built so far.

I started with Symfony and I started to build everything I need on my own. My own user handling, email sending logic and so on. That took some time and honestly, I don’t know how to feel about how

The currently open question: how do I properly verify users?

First thought was to let them upload a photo of their (partially covered) ID but that could be faked pretty easily. So my next thought was something similar with a short video.

Next goals:
- GDPR required option to export all user data
- improvement and testing of email address verification
- adding restrictions for email addresses, like gmail/googlemail (and other synonym) filter and +mail address filter
- adding human verification mechanics

I’ve been secretly building this thing for the last few months every now and then and here’s where I am right now:

- you can create a new account, confirm your email address and log in
- you can set preferences like text size, theme (currently just light mode and dark mode for more to come)
