i don't know much about the management of FC, but my bet is that this decision came from the hotel and FC had little say in it. i'm certain the ppl on FC staff know this space was so important to people and wouldn't have dropped it unless they were truly forced to.

but.. it's a bummer

damn.. if you know anything about FC you know how sad of a day this is.

back in 2017 when FC was my first con, i was so much more reserved and couldn't see myself EVER going to the party floor... but the existence of it was amazing to me. it's a legendary space that's been core to FC's identity

managed to port one of my shadertoy shaders into unity, hook it up with audiolink, and get it on my synth avatar with a decent looking glass visor effect on top.

now that I have the building blocks figured out i could try porting some other wacky things onto here too :3

Every once in a while someone expresses shock that I grew up in the SF bay area and I didn't just move here for the tech jobs, it's happened quite a few times

On one hand it's kinda funny to be treated like some sorta mythical creature, but it can also make me feel a little lonely, in a way...
