Hypothetical: if N #apocalypse occurred and you and a few others survived, and most of the infrastructure remains intact, the first thing you’d have to do is make sure the water system is operating, adding fluoride, making sure the waste isn’t be mixed in.

To be fair, a lot of the GOP get their money from PACs that are in healthcare. They don’t like the ACA because it does what good laws should do: firmly place rules that guard against greed.

Weren’t most of the rules the military made to restrain their soldiers, made by the army themselves? You don’t train a soldier and then just let loose and hope for the best, otherwise you won’t have an army, you’ll have a highly trained mob.

I don’t like or dislike the #military. Every nation has one, and it’s a professional career. I vehemently disagree with war, and think the diplomatic corps should be fully supported for peaceful resolutions.

That all said, man I feel sorry for the US top brass listening to Pete Hesgeth today.

A apolitical fighting force sits through a partisan speeches designed to try and get them to join their side. It was disrespectful of the military, their time, their resources, and their intelligence.

Conservatives always think the answer is military because of the order it instills. It’s fantasy.

It’s important to understand something: he thinks it’s *his* money, too. So when he directs his party to not negotiate on healthcare, he’s basically saying “more for me and mine, and none for them.”

I’ve met generals in my time. They are usually reserved, very intelligent, calm under pressure and critical of everything. They admire action, and not just combat action. People solving mundane, small problems so they don’t become big ones.

Pete Hegseth is a big problem, but lacks action.

Thinking about #AI , what happens if it’s a bust? I mean, practically. What if its commercial application is not realised, and investors bail? All that water, all that energy, poured into a bubble that was nothing more than a glorified program?

I still understand it for research, but commercially?

It was such fun! I especially liked that collecting the logs actually helped us understand the Old World and their principles. Aloy bridged that chasm between old world (advanced civilization) with tribal politics and needs.

I’m sad that he was killed. I’m seeing people already try to make him someone he wasn’t. You can’t slap saintly paint on a sinner and call it even. He hurt a lot of people with his words. He had a right to say them, but he chose his words. It shouldn’t mean his death for it.
