There will be empty offices in the NATO building if the US reduces its personnel.
I don't understand your problem. The institutions are already in place; no one needs to build anything from scratch.
I think of it more as a shift in responsibility than a divorce.

Now we're back to square one. This is exactly what I expected from the Kremlin in 2014 and before 2022. I understand Russia's concern when all the former Soviet republics want to join the European economic and regulatory area. But this matter must be resolved diplomatically, not by force.
It's over; Russia is already attacking Europe. Therefore, any military action from the European side must be seen as an attempt to contain the weirdos in the Kremlin.

There may be a reason for this. Since the Trump administration was repeatedly outmaneuvered by the Kremlin, the weirdos in the Kremlin shouldn't be surprised if the US exerts more pressure on the Kremlin.
