In Ranma 1/2 Nettohen ep. 99 there is a picture of fruit with Ryoga, Mousse and Ranma's faces on it along with a quote saying "To Work Together is a Beautiful Thing". This is a reference to the writer/painter Saneatsu Mushanokoji (武者小路実篤) and his artwork/writing.

In MAO chapter 304 "Mei's Whereabouts", Kamon deals with the man-eating tree while Mao confronts Renji. Having learned of Mei's fate, Renji storms off in search of her, but not before he is found by Mizuchi.
