Nixon was pardoned, we got Reagan with Iran/Contra, Reagan was let off the hook because Republicans delayed Walsh until he was gone (both from office and mentally), we got HW Bush who was also implicated in Iran/Contra. Bill Barr got him to pardon his co-conspirators before they could be indicted.
